Empathy and poetry

Without empathy, there is no poetry.
The writer cannot reach out.
The reader is not touched.

Devils we are

If you think about, it the rest of creation is living in hell. And humans are the devils.

Privilege is…

Privilege is walking around with an athletic supporter and cup that has been in your family for generations; finding all the people without cups, kicking them between the legs, telling them how much it hurts you and that you understand their pain; telling them if they worked hard they could afford to buy a cup from your family cup distributor business; and telling all your friends how your great grand parents got kicked between the legs once before 1908.

The true citizen.

I believe in truth, kindness, genuine reasoned argument and sustainable practices that promote a greater good. Therefore I cannot be a die hard supporter of any political party.

I wish all citizens and community members held these beliefs. Unfortunately, most do not. If you do, please leave a comment.

Kirtlands’s festival June 3 2017

Tomorrow, my photos will be up for auction at the Annual Kirtland’s Warbler Festival in Roscommon, Michigan. Five photos of Kirtland’s Warblers on the wintering grounds in Eleuthera. This little bird is the comeback story of migratory birds. Added to the Endangered species list the same year the Bahamas gained its independence. Perhaps, this is destiny, to be here with my wife and son, whom I never would have met if not for this little bird. Bidding starts at 7:30 am and closes at 12:30 pm.
